Simos Manganis is the founder and CEO of Green Olive Films, an international full-service production company with offices in Athens and Nicosia. Since 1996, he has been contributing to the development of the local audio-visual industry by promoting Greece and Cyprus as international film destinations.
Green Olive Films has emerged as one of the most highly regarded production companies in the region.
During the last 20 years, Simos has helped attract more than 400 international advertising campaigns for global brands, feature films and TV series, and he has collaborated with many of the leading agencies, production companies and studios in Europe and North America. Recent projects include series and shows for Amazon Studios, Paramount+, Netflix, BBC, Channel 5, and documentaries for National Geographic, Cosmote History, and many others.
Some of his recent production successes include the Cypriot feature film Find Me Falling that ranked #1 globally on Netflix with more than 25 million viewers, the feature film The Siege on Liperti Street that won 5 awards at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 2019, the Paramount+ TV series The Castaways and the international documentary Burried:The Secrets of Keros for National Geographic.
In 2023, Simos established a cultural incubator within Green Olive Films that brings together industry professionals, artists, scientists, and academics to accelerate the development of cultural content for museums, organisations, events, and festivals through participatory storytelling, impact producing and innovative forms of content distribution. The first of these projects were completed in 2024 in collaboration with the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Cycladic Identity Project. Simos was born in Nicosia and lives in Athens. Ηis family are refugees from Lapithos.
